Planning is progressing for the planned dog exercise area at Plimmerton Domain. A $200,000 budget was allocated for this project via the Council’s 2018–38 Long-term Plan and its development is being led by the Parks team.
A working group is currently being assembled, which will include a range of dog experts and community representation from the Plimmerton Residents Association. While the Council will set some of the project parameters (such as budget and physical location), the group will play a key role in developing a preliminary design for the facility. The first meeting of the working group will be held in mid-late January 2019.
Once developed, park users and the community will be invited to provide feedback on the preliminary design.
Construction of the dog exercise area will be undertaken over the summer of 2019/20.
