Shovel ready Infrastructure Projects

The Government asked the public and private infrastructure sector impacted by Covid-19, to submit ‘shovel ready’ infrastructure projects for its consideration.

Ministers want to understand the availability, benefits, geographical spread and scale of ‘shovel ready’ projects in New Zealand.  These projects will be considered in the context of any potential Government response to support the construction industry, and to provide certainty on a pipeline of projects to be started or re-commenced, once the COVID 19 Response Level is suitable for construction to begin.

Below you can read details about the six projects the Porirua City Council has put forward for funding to the Infrastructure Industry Reference Group, supported by Crown Infrastructure Partners Limited (CIP).
