Notification of Application for a Resource Consent under Section 95A(3)(a)


Name of applicant: Porirua City Council – City Growth and Partnership

Council reference: RC8033 - LU0160/19

The applicant proposes: To demolish the US Marines Hall at 20 Whitehouse Road, Titahi Bay

The application requires land use consent for the following reasons: Demolition of a Group B building listed in Appendix 10.2 is a restricted discretionary activity under Rule 6.1.7 of the District Plan.

The application includes an assessment of environmental effects.  The application may be inspected at the Porirua City Council, Administration Building, Customer Service Centre (ground floor), Cobham Court, Porirua, between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm.

Who can make a submission?

Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that—

(a)      adversely affects the environment; and

(b)      does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.

How you can have your say:

Submissions must be received no later than 5pm Friday 17 April 2020.

You may make a written or electronic submission.  The submission must be on Form 13.  Copies of this form are available from the Council’s Customer Service Centre  or here: Resource consent submission form – Form 13.

Email submissions can be sent to submissions@poriruacity.govt.nz.  Please include “Submission on RC8033 - LU0160/19– demolish the US Marines Hall at 20 Whitehouse Road” in the subject line.

If you don’t have access to a computer, you can pick up a submission form at our front counter at 16 Cobham Court or ask at any of our city libraries. You can fill the form out and submit it at the same place.

You can view all publicly notified application documents at our Customer Services Centre for 20 days from the public notification publication date to the submission closing date, and at our Public consultation portal.

Lodge your submission within 20 working days of the notification date for the resource consent.
