BAKER Anita

My principal place of residence is in the Northern/Pukerua ki te Raki Ward area. I am also standing for the Mayor-Porirua City Council, Hutt Mana Charitable Trust.

I've been a dedicated councillor for nine years, connected to you who elected me and focused on the significant issues that confront our city.

Experience counts, especially around a council where 70% of members were new. I work hard to promote action on improving our harbour health and on encouraging sustainable growth. Our council must always strive to provide basic services like roads and footpaths to a high standard.

Porirua must be an affordable city. While our rating base is narrow, this doesn't mean that we shouldn't be looking for savings and efficiencies in the council organisation. We will also have to confront looming infrastructure costs and plan how we respond to climate change.

Always available to assist residents with questions and issues, by phone, in person or through Facebook, I ask your support with your number 1 vote for the coming three years.
