LEGGETT Ross

My principal place of residence is in the Northern/Pukerua ki te Raki Ward area.

I'm completing my first term as one of your councillors and ask for your support again.

We must continue to grow Porirua's economic base to provide more local jobs and to ease the rate burden. Significant residential growth is on the way, but as well as the opportunities it will bring challenges and costs. All growth must be complementary to our environment, our budget and take climate change into consideration.

As probably the most financially prudent councillor, I will question all significant areas of spending to ensure ratepayers get value for money.

My professional background in infrastructure management has been useful around the council table. It will be even more important in the future as we decide the areas that require investment.  We also need to improve our delivery of basic services like stormwater, sewerage, roading and footpaths.
