At our City Centre Summit you told us how important local businesses are to our city’s future. Creating the right opportunities for businesses to launch, develop, upskill, and grow are vital to creating economic growth and strengthening our city centre experience for residents and visitors. We’re already working in this space – through events and initiatives such as our City Centre Summit, Pop Up Porirua, our building façade programme and plans and strategies for future development.
Porirua City is evolving and we want to make sure we’re able to influence how it changes and grows so that it’s an even better place to live, work, and raise a family in the future. We are currently fast-tracking a Growth Strategy that will run alongside our District Plan conversations, and help inform the rules and policies around how, and where we grow.
As part of the development process we are holding a Special City Hub Conversation, The Growth Strategy and Leveraging Business, at our newest venue, The Settlement, on 7 November. At this highly interactive and visual workshop experience you can be part of helping us develop the formal draft Growth Strategy document.
Managing Director of First Retail Group, Chris Wilkinson, will provide some insights into how businesses can leverage this growth to succeed.
