Enrol at Vote.nz
To be eligible to enrol to vote you must:
- be 18 years old or older (you can enrol to vote at 17).
You also must be either:
- a citizen or
- a New Zealand permanent resident.
If you're a permanent resident, you must:
- be currently living in New Zealand and
- have been living in New Zealand continuously for 12 months or more.
If you’re enrolled to vote for the central government (parliament) elections, then you’re automatically enrolled for local government (council) elections.
