Aditi Tiwari

Aditi Tiwari - Pauatahanui General Ward

Green Party

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

Twelve years ago, Aotearoa welcomed my whānau and me from India with open arms. Porirua is our home, and now I’m standing to serve our city and its people.
Growing up, I didn’t see people like me at decision-making tables. I want to change that for those coming after me.
I’m a Master’s student, community organiser, and youth advocate and leader with experience across business, film, arts, not-for-profit, and grassroots activism. I believe Porirua deserves future-focused decisions: better water systems, climate-smart infrastructure, reliable public transport, affordable living, and a youth council.
I’m committed to working with mana whenua and ensuring rangatahi voices are heard. Council should reflect the people it serves. We need bold, young voices and new ideas shaping our future. I believe if service is beneath you, then leadership is beyond you. As your councillor, I’ll put people, climate, and our future first.

Brent Ching

Brent Ching - Pauatahanui General Ward

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

Residents need confidence in council to deliver strong governance around management of limited resources, being focused on delivering key infrastructure, maintenance of our roads and recreational areas, while being sensitive to the harbour and natural surroundings.
Being a proud Porirua resident for 21+ years I’ve raised our family, coached junior sport and play masters Football representing Porirua, while experiencing a wide range of activities Porirua has to offer.
As a small business owner in the residential building sector, I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility and delivering projects on budget. I believe in capping rates to inflation, making council be razor-focused on expenditure and only through community referendum can an increase be sought.
I’m passionate about Porirua City and want to serve the community and help grow the city through transparency, and strong infrastructure to manage residential and commercial growth that benefits all.

Josh Trlin

Josh Trlin - Pauatahanui General Ward

Labour

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

As your councillor for the past six years, I’ve worked hard to deliver critical investment into core infrastructure, protect and restore our harbour, future-proof Porirua against the climate crisis, and balance council’s budget. We’ve made great progress but there’s more work to do.
Porirua can be an affordable, safe, and rewarding place to live, where communities flourish and our environment thrives. I have the knowledge, experience and drive to get us there, but I need your support.
I’m standing for re-election so I can bring a responsible and future-focused approach to the council table. My main priorities are: strategic investment in core infrastructure; improving climate resilience; accelerating harbour restoration; delivering accessible, family-friendly streets and village environments; defending core council services such as libraries, pools, and parks; and balancing council’s budget to deliver sustainable rates and long-term savings. Moira Lawler

Moira Lawler - Pauatahanui General Ward

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

I’m standing for Council because I care about Porirua and its future. A long-time resident of Pukerua Bay, I’ve worked for Porirua City Council, including three years on its executive team. I understand how Council works and how to make an impact. I can hit the ground running. At PCC I led the award-winning Village Planning Programme and have held leadership roles in both community and government organisations. I know the contribution our communities make and will support community action and promote meaningful resident participation in decision making. I’ll advocate for urgent environmental action, ensuring that new development creates quality housing without damaging our harbours. I’ll drive action on climate change. High rates are hurting, and short-term thinking is not serving us. I’ll push for financial sustainability, fairer funding, and an efficient and accountable Council. I have the energy, experience, and relationships to make a difference. www.moiralawler.nz

Nathan Waddle

Nathan Waddle - Pauatahanui General Ward

Independent

My principal place of residence is not in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

It’s been a privilege to serve as your independent councillor for the past six years. I’ve lived my whole life in Porirua, and I’m proud to represent the city I call home.
I’m standing for re-election to ensure your rates are spent wisely. We’ve seen major investment across our city over the past three years, it’s important we protect that momentum, while being smart about where and how we spend going forward.
With water services soon shifting out of council hands, it’s time to take a fresh look at what council does, and make sure every service delivers real value. We must trim waste, not quality.
As a young homeowner and dad, I understand the pressures many families face. I bring a fresh perspective and commitment to practical, community-focused decisions.
Porirua deserves smart, future-ready leadership. I’m ready to keep delivering. Please support me #1.

Paul Nation

Paul Nation - Pauatahanui General Ward

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

I am a family man with almost 40 years of farming experience and have been farming in the area for the last 16 years. In 2017 and 2018 I was on a local committee with the Porirua City Council to provide input with the Growth Strategy Plan. Being a practical, hands on person, I understand the struggles with the rising costs of running a business. The frustrations of regulations, consenting and infrastructure, not only in the Rural environment but also the Urban.

Phill Houlihan

Phill Houlihan - Pauatahanui General Ward

ACT Local: Real Change. Lower Rates.

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

For too long, Porirua City Council has let ratepayers down with huge rates hikes, needless red tape on business, and wasteful spending on luxuries over practical solutions. Our Council needs a wakeup call to focus on what really matters in Porirua.
Having lived half my life in Porirua, I understand the challenges facing our community. My background as a barber and photographer now retraining as lawyer gives me the range of skills and experience needed to deliver for all ratepayers and help businesses and residents thrive.
By voting for me as an ACT Local candidate, you know what you are going to get: I will keep rates down, focus on the basics like our roads, water, and waste. Reduce red tape on local businesses, and guarantee accountability and scrutiny when decisions are made.
If you want common sense back at the council table, please give me your first preference vote.

Ross Leggett

Ross Leggett - Pauatahanui General Ward

Independent

My principal place of residence is in the Pāuatahanui General Ward area.

I’m proud to be from Porirua and to have served you as a councillor. I bring practical, proven experience, especially in infrastructure, where getting the basics right matters: water, roads, footpaths, parks and libraries.
I have helped lead work to restore our harbour and will continue to drive large-scale planting to protect our environment for future generations.
The council hasn’t always got things right. We must reduce wasteful spending, demonstrate better value for money, and be transparent with ratepayers when we must make tough choices. That means a detailed review of costs, focusing on what really matters.
We need our council to be more accountable to deliver for homeowners, while building on strong foundations for Porirua’s future. That means more local jobs, safe streets and affordable housing for this generation and the next.
I ask for your support for careful common sense around the council table by voting me #1
