As your Parirua Mäori Ward councillor, I will ground decisions in whakapapa, ensuring Council actions reflect our ancestral values and lived experience. I will amplify the Mäori voice, champion Mäori-led housing initiatives, rangatahi development, and restoration of Te Awarua-o-Porirua - ensuring mätauranga Mäori guides Long-Term and Annual Plans.
I'm a rongoa Mäori business owner, a qualified teacher and Korowai Service Manager in Porirua, actively advocating for Mäori wellbeing through education and community support as a kaupapa Mäori leader.
My experience across Mäori enterprise, practice, and kaupapa gives me deep insight into aspirations for whänau across Porirua.
I commit to transparent governance: clearly communicating Council decisions, promoting accountability, and ensuring whänau understand how Mäori perspectives shape outcomes.
My vision: a Porirua founded on Te Tiriti partnership where whänau thrive, whenua is respected, and Mäori identity is celebrated and strengthened. Please vote on 11 October 2025 to keep our Mäori ward strong.

I’m proud to be born and raised in Porirua, of Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Tūwharetoa descent.
It’s been a privilege to serve as your first directly elected Māori ward councillor, and Deputy Mayor in a council that values a strong Treaty Partnership. But we can’t take anything for granted.
Porirua must remain a beacon of inclusivity. As we navigate major challenges - our harbour, transport, and tight budgets - we need to work together and focus on real solutions, including growing local jobs.
I’ll continue to stand up for all Māori communities and support the rightful recognition of Ngāti Toa Rangatira as Mana Whenua.
A dedicated Māori voice, elected by those on the Māori roll, must continue. Please vote yes in the Māori ward referendum and encourage whānau to do the same.
Join me on our waka. Put a 1 beside my name and we’ll keep working to progress Porirua.

My love for Porirua runs deep - it’s shaped who I am. I bring a lifelong commitment to serving our people, grounded in tikanga and backed by strong leadership across government, health, and community sectors.
I will be a fierce advocate for Māori in Porirua to thrive - culturally, socially, and economically. I will work to ensure equitable access to health services, not just for Māori, but for all who call this city home.
Porirua deserves bold, principled leadership. I’m ready to bring our voice, our whakaaro, and our aspirations to the City Council table.
I’m standing for the Parirua Māori ward, and I’m asking for your vote - not just to be heard, but to be represented with strength and integrity

Ko Rawinia Rimene tōku ingoa. I’m standing for Porirua City Council to bring action, not promises, for Tangata Whenua. As Founder of Girl Native and Chair of the G100 Luxury Wing, I bring global experience and Indigenous innovation to local governance rooted in kaupapa Māori, sustainability, and Māori excellence.
I represent Māori enterprise internationally through the Asia and Global CEO Community but my heart remains with our people. I’m a voice for Rangatahi and an advocate for Māori rights an cultural preservation.
I stand for:
Protecting the Māori Ward and guaranteeing representation; Supporting Mana Whenua partnership; Infrastructure that works: clean water, better housing, smarter planning; A commitment to uplifting Māori Economic Development; Embedding Tikanga Māori into council decision-making; Vibrant Co-designed spaces and activities for Rangatahi, Toi Māori, and community leadership.
Porirua deserves bold leadership and fresh perspectives rooted in Te Ao Māori focussed on collective wellbeing. Vote 1 for Rimene
