Spicer Botanical Park.
We are currently investigating recent pollution and algae in Mitchell Stream in the Spicer Botanical Park area.
This looks like a slimy greyish coating on stones in the stream, with some occasional orange spots and stringy growth around rocks in the water.
Until we have confirmed the identification and source of the pollutant, we need to treat it as potentially harmful.
Please keep yourself and pets away from the water, and do not pick watercress or other vegetation until further notice.
