Preparation work begins for new Cannons Creek library

Cannons Creek prep work

Preparations began last week for constructing the new Cannons Creek library.

The gazebo and seating at Bedford Reserve by Cannons Creek Pool has been relocated closer to the carpark entrance, ensuring it can still be used once the new library is complete. The flying fox has been removed and is in storage before a new playground is found for it.

Fencing is up, and a new entrance has been created for the reserve.

We are looking forward to delivering this $4 million project to create a new space for the community. Funding comes from already existing budgets within Council’s 2024–34 Long-term Plan.

The library will be built with modular technology, meaning it will constructed in a factory and transported to the site, and can be added to or enlarged in the future if required. It will also have new computers for the public to use.

There will be an opportunity to have your say on aspects of the project in coming months.
