Porirua’s popular Love Local Expo returns this Saturday, 10 June, 10am–4pm at Te Rauparaha Arena.
The free expo gives more than 100 local businesses the opportunity to sell their wares or provide information on their services to a wide audience.
“Love Local is all about highlighting our local businesses. Every year the delicious local food on offer is a big hit with our expo visitors – so if you’re a foodie, this is the place to be,” says Porirua Mayor Anita Baker.
There will be a diverse variety of kai on offer, from cake to kimchi.
Those with a sweet tooth will be well catered for, with companies such as Annie’s Fudge, Cake Experience, Jessiecakes Treats, Sweet & Co, The Cake Café and Zelati all having booths.
If something savoury or fermented is more your thing, Love Local has you covered too. Make sure to check out the offerings of Classic Kiwi Kai, IndoKiwi Dhaba, Miss Korea Kimchi, Mushroom House, Pacific Soul Food Services, Regular Café, t bay café and Tītahi – Food with Freedom.
Little City Kombucha will also be there to quench thirsts, and visitors aged 18 and over can trial the offerings of our local craft breweries – Abandoned Brewery and The Beer Engine.
And if that’s not enough food and drink, visitors to the expo can enter for the chance to win a year’s supply of Whittaker’s chocolate by voting for their favourite Love Local booth.
The booth with the most votes will receive a People’s Choice Award and a free photoshoot for their business as a prize.
Now in its fourth year, Love Local is the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to Porirua to see their favourite local businesses, and discover new ones, all who operate in the city.
Entry to the expo is free, and stallholders get their exhibition spaces for free. Please remember to bring cash on the day as not all vendors will have eftpos available.
