We’ve just published our Annual Report for 2017/18.
Here’s a quick note from Mayor Mike Tana –
Kia ora! It’s been another busy year in our progressive city. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this progress over the past 12 months.
This year we have seen so
much positive growth, alongside all the things we do to keep our city running.
From the revitalisation of our city centre and Transmission Gully Motorway
opportunities to the roll-out of the more fit-for purpose recycling bins, nobody
could accuse Porirua City of standing still during the past year.
The year ahead brings
challenges, many in relation to the link roads with the new Transmission Gully
Motorway.
As we move forward with the
fine balance between environmental concerns and economic and employment
opportunities, it is important to see the big picture of benefits that this
major development will deliver to this city – improving access, reducing
commuter times and generally improving Porirua’s profile and connectivity.
We are proud of Porirua City, its rich cultural diversity, heritage and outstanding natural beauty and I am proud to be part of our shared vision for its future.
