Mobility car parks in Porirua

We provide specially marked spaces in public parking areas for people with disabilities who have a Mobility Parking permit. These wider parking spaces are close to services and shops.

Displaying a mobility parking permit allows you to park in a Council-owned parking space for longer than the time restriction.

How mobility parking permits work

A mobility parking permit allows you to park in mobility, Pay by Plate and standard time-restricted parking space for longer than the time restriction. Normal parking charges generally still apply – to find out what those are, check the closest parking meter.

With a permit, you can park for:

• Double the time for any time restriction of less than 30 minutes
• 1 hour over any time restriction of 30 minutes or longer
• 1 hour over the time you've paid for.
