19 (E1A1) Raupo-reedland gully system fringed by manuka scrub, with small areas of tawa-pukatea, kohekohe and ngaio - mixed broadleaved and pine forest also forming some edges of the site.

This is not a Crown Derived Reserve.

Outcomes sought

1. Protect the natural values to achieve healthy ecological functioning, through natural regeneration and weed pest control.

2. Protect cultural heritage values through careful management of land disturbance activities.  Provide interpretation of heritage values.

3. As funding allows, consider improvements to the street-to-street connection by developing a shared pathway that directs visitor impacts away from heritage values.

4. Consider a name change on advice from Te Runanga o Toa Rangatira.
