1. Protect reserve-to-reserve, walkway network, and street-to-street connections.
2. Continue to encourage casual active recreation by maintaining an easily accessed walkway opportunity.
3. Protect the regenerating kanuka values, and riparian and wetland area, by promoting healthy ecological functioning through animal and plant pest control, and natural regeneration.  Ensure that weeds in the adjacent designated land are contained.  Improve the wetland as funding opportunities allow, including additional riparian planting where this would enhance erosion reduction, fish spawning habitat, and amenity values.   Ensure that land management does not introduce contaminants to the wetland values.  Ensure that structures do not impede fish passage.
