Values & Outcomes

55 (E1A1) Small kanuka forest remnant. Includes gums, planted and regenerating natives.

11 (E1A1) Small remnant of tawa-hinau-kanuka forest, with surrounding pine trees.

Revegetation planting.

Walking – A system of formed walkways through gullies forming connections between Porirua CBD and Pauatahanui.

This is not a Crown Derived Reserve.

Utilities (Important): Sewer, Stormwater, North Island Gas Pipeline

Utilities (Minor): Water Supply.

1.  Continue to encourage casual active recreation by providing walking and fitness trail opportunities, open spaces, amenity planting and natural forest landscapes.  Improve the reserve entrance and signage as funding opportunities allow.

2.  Protect the potential connections to a 'Porirua to Pauatahanui' walkway network.

3.  Protect the natural forest remnants, riparian areas and wetland, promoting healthy ecological functioning through animal and plant pest control (including pampas).  Increase native planting, improve riparian values and remediate the wetland as funding opportunities allow.   Ensure that land management does not introduce contaminants to the wetland values. 

4.  Protect street-to-street, reserve-to-reserve, and ecological connections.
