GWRC Key Native Ecosystem.

45 (E1A1). Range of forest, scrub and shrubland ecosystems on a series of prominent hill slopes providing the backdrop to much of Papakowhai suburb. Mainly kanuka-manuka low forest, interspersed with remnants of podocarp broadleaved forest and exotics.

Lot 63 DP 46946 is a Crown Derived Reserve.

1. Protect the natural bush values, to promote healthy ecological functioning, through animal and plant pest control and natural regeneration.

2. Continue to encourage casual recreation and children’s play by providing easy access pathways, natural play spaces, amenity facilities and open space.

3. Protect the walkway network, reserve-to-reserve, street-to-street, and ecological connections.

4. Investigate reclassification of the various reserve parcels as Scenic B reserve, to facilitate appropriate and integrated management of the reserve.
