GWRC Key Native Ecosystem.
Continuum of coastal forest, gorse-broom-hardwood scrub and shrubland, estuarine and sedge-dominated wetland, and shore-edge associations. Kanuka, mahoe, ngaio prominent in forest.
Represents a diverse range of forest, wetland and coastal ecosystems that are now poorly represented in Porirua City, including some that are scarce, threatened or distinctive. Has been fragmented by subdivision in Camborne, but still extensive and enhances connectivity around Pauatahanui Inlet. Significant buffer against sedimentation into Pauatahanui Inlet.

Connections - several residential streets down to the Camborne walkway.
