Outcomes sought
  1. Protect the coastal landscape, cultural and heritage values through cautious management of land disturbance and structures. Consider that any land disturbance on the south-eastern hillfaces could potentially impact on wahi tapu values and archaeological sites.

  2. Protect the ecological ridge-to-sea and coastal forest corridor connections. Protect the coastal forest values, promoting healthy ecological functioning through animal and plant pest control and enabling natural regeneration. Maintain tree roosts provided by existing old macrocarpas and pines. Increase native planting as funding opportunities allow. Ensure that land management does not introduce contaminants to Duck Creek.

  3. Encourage casual recreation by continuing to provide for short walking opportunities, grassed open spaces, landscape appreciation and by maintaining the Rex Green look-out.

  4. Protect street-to-street, and reserve-to-reserve connections. Develop additional walking linkages between Duck Creek, Ayton Drive and Pauatahanui inlet as funding opportunities allow.
