Te Puna Kōrero is the main committee that makes decisions about the city’s strategic direction and framework. It is made up of the Mayor, all councillors and the Council Kaumātua.
Today, the committee heard oral submissions on the Annual Plan 2025/26 and Local Water Done Well – the options for a new water services delivery model.
Council received 343 submissions – 319 written and 24 video submissions – during the consultation period, with a small number choosing to present their submissions orally, including three students from Tairangi School.
Te Puna Kōrero will deliberate on all submissions and make decisions at their meeting on 5 June. The final Annual Plan 2025/26 will be adopted by Council at its meeting on 26 June.
The committee also received the submissions made on the proposed Rating Policy.
There was also one speaker in the public forum, talking to the council about a culvert in their neighbourhood.
