The full Council met this morning, Thursday 29 June, with the adoption of the Annual Plan the main item on the agenda.

Here is a wrap of the meeting:

- Mayor Anita Baker gave her regular report. She noted the number of events as part of Porirua Business Month, including 5000 people attending Love Local, a fantastic Women in Business gathering and speakers, talks from Ngāti Toa’s Helmut Modlik, and much more. Mayor Baker also attended the Mana Probus 25 morning tea celebration, met rangatahi doing work experience at Council, saw the Pacific Connection Choir before they embarked overseas, went along to the Plimmerton Midwinter Swim (but didn’t brave the icy water) and was impressed with the ferocity of a wheelchair rugby event she was invited to

- Council confirmed committee recommendations from two previous Te Puna Korero meetings and the most recent Audit & Risk Committee

- Councillors and the mayor then agreed to the Annual Plan for 2023/24 and formally struck the rates for the coming year, with the average increase of 9.71 per cent agreed in earlier deliberations.

There were no speakers during the public forum part of the meeting.
