A meeting of the full Porirua City Council was held this morning, Thursday 30 May. Here is a wrap of what was covered:
Porirua Mayor Anita Baker provided an update of her activities since the last Council meeting, including attending various Long-term Plan drop-in sessions; a number of services around Porirua on Anzac Day; participating in various local school fundraising events; the opening of the Arts on Track art gallery in Plimmerton; meeting the Mahi Rangatahi interns at Council; attending the Friends of Mana Island AGM; a Pink Ribbon breakfast at the Supply Room; rowing champs in Titahi Bay; a citizenship ceremony; the Porirua Careers Expo; planting at Cannons Creek Lakes; and celebrating Rotuman and Samoan language weeks.
Council then went through and accepted recommendations from the two Te Puna Kōrero meetings held since the last full Council meeting.
Last on the agenda, Council heard from officers on the changes to animal control fees proposed as part of the Long-term Plan 2024-34. After asking some questions, Council agreed to adopt the proposed fee increases.
There were no speakers in the public forum.
