The inaugural meeting of the new Porirua City Council was held at Pātaka last night, with a ceremony full of waiata and haka.
The Council is made up of Mayor Anita Baker and Councillors Nathan Waddle, Josh Trlin, Ross Leggett, Tracy Johnson, Kylie Wihapi, Geoff Hayward, Kathleen Filo, Moze Galo, Mike Duncan and Izzy Ford.
The Mayor and Councillors were officially sworn in, and the committee structure set for the coming triennium.
Cr Wihapi was appointed Deputy Mayor, and Dr Taku Parai reappointed as Council Kaumātua.
The date of the next meeting was set for 10 November 2022.
