Recycle right at the recycling station

Bulk recycling spicer

Sometimes you may have recycling that is too big for your kerbside bin, or your bin might already be full.

Porirua City Council has a recycling station at Spicer Landfill where you can bring your extra household recyclables to drop off between 8.30am–5pm each day.

There are recycling ambassadors at the station to help with your recycling to ensure that the right things go in the right bins.

Feel free to chat with them if you’re not sure what goes where, or if an item you have brought can go in the bins or not.

These items can be dropped off at the recycling station by residential customers only:

  • glass bottles and jars (no lids)
  • plastic with 1, 2 or 5 on it
  • aluminium and tin cans
  • paper
  • clean and dry cardboard that’s been flattened
  • Tetra Pak cartons cut open and washed out.

You’ll find the recycling station on the left-hand side as you drive up towards the landfill on Broken Hill Rd in Kenepuru (opposite Trash Palace).

If you have items you no longer need but are not accepted at the recycling station or in kerbside recycling bins, check out the other ways to recycle page on our website.
