Te Kukuwai o Toa, the new wetland in Elsdon has been given a placemaking award.
The wetland is designed to help prevent flooding in the area, and improve harbour water quality.
It was awarded a Kūmara Award, in the category - Tiakina te whenua, ka manaakitia te tangata. Caring for the land, caring for the people.
