We’re in the process of a 10-year, $21 million city centre revitalisation that will improve the way business is run in our city and is good for our community.
We’re changing the look and feel of the city centre with a new public space in Te Manawa, our new name for Cobham Court, gifted to us by Ngāti Toa Rangatira, widened paved access way to Lyttelton Ave, large grassed area for recreation and events, space for food trucks, new Saturday morning markets, and outdoor movies.

Porirua is well known for its fantastic retail offerings right in the city centre. We’re re-shaping the city centre to make it even easier for visitors to the city to walk between the spaces – increasing pedestrian access for businesses.
Each week more businesses make the move to Porirua. We have space available for a range of different business types, considerable pedestrian flow, ease of access, and a resilient workforce (you’re far less likely to be impacted adversely by natural disasters here than in other nearby business hubs). We’re keen supporters of new business in Porirua City and have dedicated teams to help set you up with the resources you need and the people you need to know.
