In 2012, our community asked that we help make our city centre a place they can be proud of – that will provide a better business environment and will make visitors feel welcome.
To make this happen we’re in the process of a 10-year, $21 million city centre revitalisation that will make Te Manawa a great place to gather, work or live.
We’re changing the look and feel of the city centre with the new public space in Cobham Court, widened paved accessway to Lyttelton Ave, a large grassed area for recreation and events, and spaces for food trucks and outdoor movies.
With the completion of works in Cobham Court, Hartham Place North and Ferry Place, the focus is now on upgrading Serlby Place.
The improvements will create new shared spaces for events and community activities.
The development will include new paving, seating, planting and lighting. Together these exciting changes will create a welcoming space for locals, visitors and businesses to connect. Work started in February and will be completed by September 2019.
Each week more businesses make the move to Porirua. We have space available for a range of different business types, considerable pedestrian flow, ease of access, and a resilient workforce.
You are much less likely to be impacted adversely by natural disasters here than in other nearby business hubs.
We’re keen supporters of new business in Porirua City and have dedicated teams to help set you up with the resources you need and the people you need to know.
