Explore our parks and reserves

Porirua City has more than 950 hectares of parks and reserves for you to enjoy. We really are spoilt for choice with our natural environment. In fact, if you chose to visit a different park or reserve each day it would take you around six months to experience them all.

Why not check out a new park this week in Porirua?

Kids love our playgrounds

And little wonder, there are more than 40 to choose from around Porirua. Our playgrounds are something quite special – along with the traditional seesaws, jungle gyms, and swings, we have playgrounds with ‘mouse wheels’, flying foxes, net climbing frames, forts, and 360º basket swings.

What about the dogs?

Head to the Plimmerton Domain Dog Recreation Area! Hounds and their humans love this one-of-a-kind fenced park with its three separate zones that give doggos of all sizes, speeds and temperaments a safe place to play and have fun in the sun.
