Parks & reserves

There's nothing quite like holding an event al fresco or under the stars. Porirua City has many beautiful outdoor spaces that are perfect for a special event or celebration.

If you’d like to hold an event in a favourite park or reserve, phone us on (04) 237 5089 or email enquiries@poriruacity.govt.nz to find out if the site is available and any cost that applies.

You need our permission to hold any event in a public place if it:

  • could affect other users or neighbours of the space 
  • involves setting up marquees or other structures
  • needs extra services like toilets or lights
  • will be attended by more than 20 people  
  • involves alcohol
  • could damage the space or vegetation in it.
