New temporary home for Porirua City Council meetings

Te Rauparaha Arena

Porirua City Council meetings will have a bit of a new look to them from next week, as they will be held in a new location.

Council manager Democratic Services Lynlee Baily said that from Monday December 10, all meetings of the council and council committee’s will be held over at Te Rauparaha Arena, Porirua, in Meeting Room One on the Mezzanine floor.

“The meetings have been moved to the arena for the duration of the refurbishment of the Porirua City Council Administration Building.

“Members of the public are welcome to attend the meetings in the new location, just come in and take a seat in the row of chairs immediately inside the meeting room.”

Ms Baily said for anyone coming along to any of the meetings parking is available in the arena carpark.

She said meetings would continue in the same vein as before, with their location being the only change in the meeting process.

The updated meeting location has also been included in the Event’s section of Council’s Facebook page, where each Council and Committee meeting was advertised.
