Track status

We're letting you know which tracks and walkways are closed or have restricted access.

Here's a list of the walkways and tracks that are closed or have restricted access. Please respect the warning signs and do not put yourself in danger.

Walkway or track Status
Champion Street entrance to Bothamley Park Closed from 8 April to 12 April for asphalt resurfacing
Whitby Walkway Closed from February 20 for five weeks - the work being done by the developer has taken longer than expected and the track will remain closed until about the 19 April so Council can repair some other damaged sections of the walkway. Some sections of walkway will be closed between Observatory Close and Sailmaker Close until 10 May, for the completion of some additional work associated with the development and the repairs to some sections of concrete path.
Te Ara Tawa Shared Path Between Kenepuru & Porirua – will be closed from 8 October for two weeks for Transmission Gully bridge works.
Paremata, Ivey Bay to Kahu Road Open - but caution advised while repairs to a major slip are carried out.
Bothamley Park tracks Open
Wgtn Water are working at various sites along the Kenepuru Stream over the new few months. This work is altering the stream bank to protect the sewer pipe from the stream. Contractors started on 15 January in Mepham Place and will work their way up the stream. At times areas around the construction works will need to be closed off to the public. This will mainly affect areas downstream of the parks Champion Street carpark.
Camborne Walkway The upgrade to this walkway is now complete.
Trail 10 mountainbike trail Closed Mon 25-Fri 29 March inclusive while retaining wall installed and a switchback modified.
Brendan Beach walkway, Pukerua Bay Walkway from lookout to beach closed until further notice due to slip.
