A Hearing Panel of independent commissioners heard this application on Thursday, 10 December and Friday, 11 December 2020.

The hearing was adjourned on Friday, 11 December 2020 and the Hearing Panel issued Minute 3 with further directions.

On Friday, 29 January 2021 the Hearing Panel issued Minute 4 closing the hearing and confirming they are now in receipt all the information required in order to make their decision.

The applicant proposes: To demolish the US Marines Hall at 20 Whitehouse Road, Titahi Bay

The application requires land use consent for the following reasons: Demolition of a Group B building listed in Appendix 10.2 is a restricted discretionary activity under Rule 6.1.7 of the District Plan.

The application includes an assessment of environmental effects.  The application may be inspected at the Porirua City Council, Administration Building, Customer Service Centre (ground floor), Cobham Court, Porirua, between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm.

Who can make a submission?

Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that—

(a)      adversely affects the environment; and

(b)      does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.
