There are a number of ways to report dumped rubbish:
If you wish to send any photos in support of your request or advice, please email them separately to email@example.com and we'll attach them to your record in our systems.
Put your household rubbish and recycling at the kerb by 8am on the right week, and we will pick it up, or take reusable items to Trash Palace for recycling. You can also take your rubbish to the Spicer Landfill tip or the recycling stations at the landfill.
Computers, batteries, solvent-based paints, some older light fittings, oils, herbicides, insecticides and other chemicals can damage people’s health and the environment if not properly disposed of. Contact us on (04) 237 5089 to find out how to dispose of a hazardous substance, including asbestos.
Our Litter Infringement Policy became effective on 11 December, 2019. The purpose of the policy is to keep Porirua tidy and free from illegal dumping. The policy enables Council officers to issue infringement notices between $100 and $400, depending on the type and amount of litter. For more detail:
