Decisions on submissions to the Proposed District Plan were publicly notified on 7 December 2023.
Appeals must be made within a period of 30 working days of service of the notice of decision of the Council. These appeals were made to the Environment Court.
Following the close of the appeal period, there is a 15 day period within which other parties can join an appeal proceeding. This is restricted to those who made a submission on the subject matter of the appeal or who have an interest greater than the general public.
The Environment Court has extended the time period for parties to join an appeal until 5pm on 25 March. The Environment Court Minute can be viewed here.
A list of the appeals received and their notices from the Environment Court can be found here
More information on the appeal process can be found on the Environment Court website at www.environmentcourt.govt.nz. This includes details of who can appeal, when and how to file an appeal, and the filing fee for appeals.
Please remember, Council is a party to the proceedings and not running the appeal process. Any questions or correspondence on process matters around appeals should be directed to the Environment Court.
